- Outside food and drink will not be allowed; flasks containing water will be allowed. Water stations will be set up for bowlers at no charge. The Leeward Bowl Snack Bar will open at 6:30 am.- Those who think they made the Top 8 (or are otherwise advised by a tournament committee member) in the U12, U15, and U18 divisions are encouraged to stay after the conclusion of their shift on Sunday.- Lucky draw tickets are available to help offset the cost of travel for advancers from this tournament. Bowlers who think they placed in the top 8 (or are otherwise advised by a tournament committee member) in the U18, U15, and U12 divisions after Sunday’s shift should be prepared to meet in 850 Lounge shortly after their shift concludes, and know the following information:
- if they intend on going to Junior Gold in Detroit, MI (or have already qualified)
- their USBC membership number
- their last four digits of their SSN
- home address and home/parent’s phone number(s) & email address(es)Bowlers intending to go to Junior Gold and have not previously qualified can purchase a Junior Gold membership after the conclusion of the stepladder finals.
All results will load as a Google Drive link. An additional column has been provided U12, U15, and U18 divisions to note how far bowlers are from the stepladder cut.Current Junior Gold qualifiers are listed separately. Additional bowlers may be asked to join the pre-stepladder meeting in case higher-placed bowlers have already qualified or decline to participate in Junior Gold.

Please check in 30 minutes prior to the start of your assigned shift at the main bowling center entrance.Those who think they made the Top 8 (or are otherwise advised by a tournament committee member) in the U12, U15, and U18 divisions are encouraged to stay after the conclusion of their shift on Sunday.Lanes will not be reoiled between the 7am and 10am shifts on Saturday. Oil pattern will not be announced before the tournament.Stepladder Finals will be held after the conclusion of the U8/U10/U12 shift on Sunday, with Roll Call at 1:30 pm. Stepladder Finalists who are not present at Roll Call will be replaced with their division’s alternate(s).Stepladder Finals winners must attend a meeting following the conclusion of the Championship match & Awards Ceremony for scholarship & Junior Gold details/documentation.
Format
U8 & U10 Divisions: Bowlers will bowl 3 games on Saturday and 3 games on Sunday (6 total). Bowlers will remain on one pair of lanes for each 3- game block. Bowlers with the highest pinfall at the conclusion of all 6 games will be declared Champions of their respective divisions.U12, U15, & U18 Divisions: Bowlers will bowl 5 games on Saturday and 3 games on Sunday (8 total). Bowlers will move one pair to the right after each game; turnaround pair will be announced. Total pinfall will determine the top 5 bowlers in each division—the top 5 and alternate(s) will be announced and must attend a mandatory meeting for Stepladder Finals information. The Stepladder Finals will drop qualifying pinfall, with 5th place bowling 4th, winner bowling 3rd, etc., until a Champion is determined.This year, we’re happy to offer three (3) complimentary bracket entries to every bowler during their qualifying rounds on both days! Entries will be randomly assigned brackets within their age/gender divisions (when possible), with winners taking home extra scholarship money through SMART! For more information on how brackets work, visit this Oahu Junior Bowlers Tour link. Bracket games for Saturday are games 2, 3, and 4; Sunday will use the three qualifying games.
Please be advised that amounts may differ from the linked example. As brackets will be complimentary, we will not be taking extra paid entries.
TiesU8 & U10 divisions: In the event of a tie for first place, the tie will not be broken and bowlers will be declared co-champions.U12, U15, & U18 divisions: In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot into the Stepladder Finals, a 9th & 10th frame roll-off will determine the final qualifier held after the conclusion of the U8/U10/U12 shift on Sunday. The tournament committee will determine the roll-off pair. The participant with the higher 3-game scratch qualifying series will have choice of starting lane.In the case of a tie at the conclusion of a Stepladder Finals match, a 9th & 10th frame roll off will be held.
This tournament will follow USBC national tournament rules regarding bowling balls, pursuant to Rule 7 in the Junior Gold Competitor's Guide:Bowling balls must meet all USBC specifications as defined in the latest edition of the Equipment Specifications and Certification Manual. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure all equipment is eligible for competition. Only balls that are on the USBC approved list and are product registered are allowed in competition. The following bowling balls are prohibited for use: 900 Global Altered Reality, 900 Global Wolverine, Roto Grip UFO Alert, Storm Electrify Solid, Storm Phaze 4 and Storm Trend 2. Tournament staff reserves the right to check equipment for compliance at any time.Bowlers will be allowed to alter surfaces during warmup. All surface altering products (e.g. Abralon, sandpaper, polish, etc.) must be put away prior to the start of tournament play. Surface alterations will not be allowed between qualifying and stepladder play on Sunday.Junior Bowling Program Coordinators will be responsible for ensuring their bowlers are following the tournament dress code.
